MAKIKI KITCHEN REMODEL
This 1950's kitchen remodel was past due. Original wood cabinets with multiple layers of paint were ready to find a new home in the landfill. The small kitchen was further hindered by the tall pantry cabinet and overhead storage cabinet that made the kitchen feel even smaller than it was. Out with the old and in with the new. Shaker cabinets replaced the rotting originals and the peninsula was enlarged to create an open and functional space. Quartz countertops with a waterfall edge updated the look. New appliances, moving the stove, replacing the sink, faucet and window covering further improved the look and feel of the new kitchen. We were able to keep the gray subway tile (the only thing) and with new lighting we were in business.
